Sump discharge and gutter connection to drywell

Dig a bunch of digging this weekend getting the discharge line for the sump pump in place.  Y'd it with another 3" line to be used for the gutter.

Both go to a single 4" pipe that connects to the drywall.

Still need to get more gravel to fill up the rest of the drywall pit.

Backfill complete

Water line digging did not begin today, but they did finish the backfill for the foundation.  They actually had to truck in some extra dirt as they removed a bit too much during the initial excavation.

The only area left to be filled in is around the sewer line, which they left extra dirt for.

Anyways, it's great to finally have level ground back there again and to have the two windows wells in place.  Although now it's just a bunch of dirt and will promptly turn to complete mud the next time we get rain.  I'll happily trade that though.

I do need to check with them next week to make sure there is plenty of sloping away from the foundation.  Pretty sure they did it right but I want to be sure.

They also went ahead and dug the hole for my drywell, which will save me a whole bunch of digging.

2nd floor interior wall framing complete

Meant to post this yesterday...

Like the title says, 2nd floor interior wall framing has been for the most part completed.  On Monday materials for the ceilings and roof will arrive and they will get to work building that.

Expect another post this evening after the backfill has been completed...

My framer has a carpenter friend who will be constructing all 17 of these roof brackets.

More 2nd floor wall framing

Got to the house after dark tonight and so this was the only photo I could get.  The main "core" of the 2nd floor exterior walls is now in place.  Now the dormers and areas where the roof cuts in to the ceilings need to be built out.  Some of that will happen tomorrow.

On Friday the foundation people are coming back to do the backfill and to also dig in the front yard for the waterline. It will be so nice to finally have the backyard back to normal!  I hope to get lots of photos at the end of that day.

2nd floor wall framing

The 2nd floor wall framing has begun.  This is the final and perhaps most complicated part of the framing.  Hopefully we can get a bunch of it knocked out this week as the weather is going to be rain-free.

The 2nd floor stairs have also been completed, so no need to climb up ladders anymore!

Additional ceiling and roof joists should be arriving towards the end of the week.

Framing continues

All 2nd story floor joists are in place.  Some of the 2nd story subflooring has been installed.  Tomorrow (Thursday) the remaining plywood subflooring will be installed and probably at least one of the 2nd floor walls will be framed up.   No work scheduled for Friday due to the expected rain and the traffic issues related to the Donald's coronation.

2nd floor demo day #2

Nearly all of the 2nd floor demolition has been completed.  It looks like we will be keeping the roof above the porch but definitely replacing some sections of the decking as needed.  Most of the fascia and edge boards will need to be replaced as well.

On Monday, we'll need to demolish the top of the chimney, then remove the remaining ceiling joists and then we will begin installing the new joists.
