First floor walls are almost done

As the title suggests, the first floor walls are in and mostly complete.  I say mostly because some of the sheating still needs to be installed and at least one of the headers put into place.

But, now we have a full "box" so if nothing else it makes it easier to cover with the tarp:-)

Monday should see them framing up the few interior walls that will exist in this new construction space, as well as a few structural sections and posts that will help support the 2nd floor floor joists.

Onward and upward!

This is the wall that will have most of the kitchen cabinets.  The opening to the left of the left brace is for the kitchen sink window (not fully framed out yet).

This is the opening for the windows in the new family room that will look out over the back yard:

In this view, the wall opposite the driveway is in front and the rear-yard facing wall on the right.  The window openings on the driveway wall have not been fully cut out yet...but they are spaced roughly 5 feet apart from each other...to allow for a TV to be mounted on the wall in between them, which would be easily viewable from the kitchen.
