Another miscellaneous day + Fixed video link

Nothing framing was wise done today but we got a lot of other random things done.


Had someone come today to run the copper tubing in the trench for the new 1" water line (on the left).  Inspection is scheduled for Monday.

Cut the window well drain pipe down to grade and installed the grate:

 Did the same thing with the pipe going into the top of the drywell.  This is not a drain, however, just a pop-up emitter in case the drywell ever gets full.

This was the big project.  We got the sewer line run through the wall, sloped properly, then waterproofed around it and then backfilled.  So now all the backfill in the backyard is complete!

Also, on the inside where the sewer line came in to the house we filled in the large hole that was made in the concrete to get the pipe to fit through.  Hard to tell with the lighting but it is pretty much smoothed out. It will be hidden inside a wall anyways.

Waterproofing and Drainage complete

All of the footing drains and the window well and stairwell drains have been completed and the sump basin is in place.  All of the drains have been wrapped in filter fabric.  The ground under the slab has been cleaned up and prepped.  Tomorrow they will install the vapor barrier and the insulation board and then it will be ready for slab inspection and pouring.

The excavator made its return to the jobsite to begin the backfill.  Backfill will be completed once the first floor subfloor is in place (to brace the walls).

Overall the backyard is starting to slowly starting to get cleaned up and the major dirt piles removed.

This is just a closeup of the exterior waterproofing layers:  membrane, insulation board, drain board, and filter fabric.  Can't get much more waterproof than this.

Plumbing groundwork finished

The plumber finished the groundwork this weekend.  Inspection scheduled for tomorrow (Monday).  Slab pour possibly later this week, all weather (rain and/or cold) dependent.

the pipes are pretty solidly in place right now using the gravel.  Also, they are currently filled with a mixture of antifreeze and water.  Otherwise, they have a tendency to "float" up out of place during the concrete pour.
